Prior to the Netgear R9000 setup, you need to physically connect your router using these means:
- Plug your Netgear WiFi router into a wall outlet.
- Plug in your modem power adapter and check the power light to ensure the modem is on.
- Connect your Netgear R9000 router. Plug one end of an Ethernet cable to your modem and the other end into the internet port on your Netgear wireless router.
- Plug in the router power adapter and check the power light to ensure that the router is on.
- Open a web browser and type your Netgear router’s default IP address into its address bar field.

- Launch an internet browser.
- Type routerlogin.net into the browser’s address bar.
- Hit the Enter key.
- You will be prompted to enter a username and password. Enter the default login credentials.
- Click on Log In.
- The BASIC Home screen displays.
